Ambassador-at-Large for Energy Security, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic
Pavol Hamžík has been Ambassador-at-Large for energy security at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic since 2014. Prior to this appointment he served as the Slovak ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Ukraine, as a foreign policy advisor to the prime minister, advisor to the foreign minister and plenipotentiary of the prime minister for the Lisbon Treaty negotiations. Before 2004 he also served as deputy prime minister for European integration, as minister of foreign affairs and member of the National Security Council, and as a member of delegations to many other key international institutions (including the OSCE).
