Minister of Economy of Slovakia

Peter Žiga is currently serving as Minister of Economy in the Slovak government. In the previous electoral term he served as minister of environment. Before that he was an MP and state secretary at the Ministry of Economy. Prior to being politically active he was CEO of Taper, advisor to the vice-president of VÚB bank, and advisor to the CEO of SARIO. Mr Žiga holds a degree and PhD from the Faculty of Business Economics (Košice) and the University of Economics in Bratislava. He also studied at St Gallene.
