Secretary-general, ENTSO-E

Konstantin Staschus has been Secretary General of ENTSO-E since 2009. The European internal Energy Market legislation has mandated ENTSO-E to develop ten-year pan-European network development plans, enhance operational coordination, perform R&D planning and planning of network codes on connection conditions, market and operational rules. These codes will become binding European regulations and will furnish the Europe-wide electricity market with the detailed set of cross-border rules it requires. Previously, he worked at Pacific Gas and Electric, USA, held management positions in German utility associations, including as managing director of VDN. He was awarded a PhD in operations research by Virginia Tech in the USA.
