Undersecretary of State, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Poland

Michał Kurtyka is the State Undersecretary at the Polish Ministry of Energy. Before that, he worked at the Office of the Committee for European Integration, where he headed an analytical team to support Poland’s EU accession negotiations. He also led modernization projects in a number of large Polish energy companies. He graduated in engineering from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and holds a PhD in economics from the Warsaw University. He gained experience at the National Institute of Standards and Technologies (Gaithersburg, MD) in a team led by Prof. William D Phillips, the physics Nobel prize winner.
